The World in 1958

You may wonder what My Fair Lady, Sputnik 1 and Brazil have in common?  Probably not much on the surface, but they're all featured in this blog post about the world in 1958.  What else was happening around the world while the people of Springhill worked away in their mine?

NASA was officially created

My Fair Lady opened in London with the lovely, talented Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison

Brazil won the world cup
